On Tuesday, April 3, 2018, Shannon Kalia Chu, mother, daughter, sister, niece, aunt, cousin, and friend passed away suddenly at the age of 47 years. Shannon will be forever remembered by her precious children, Kiahna and Justin Norman, by her parents Winona Yamashita and Lani Chu, by her brother Adam Chu, by her sisters Lisa Greenough, Tyffany Hawes, and Amy Cepe, and by her grandmother Betty Gomes. Shannon will also be forever remembered by her best friend & cousin Jodi McClure along with her numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family and dear friends.
Shannon loved sandy beaches and sunny skies, especially in Hawaii. Hawaii brought her so much joy, but Kailua Beach was her true paradise. Shannon also adored and loved her special little kitty, Kelah. Kelah's unique personality kept Shannon laughing day in and day out. Shannon's love for Hawaii and her kitty was only surpassed by her love for her children and family. Her kids were the light of her life and she could not have been more proud to be their mother.
Shannon, we love you to the moon and back. Rest in Peace. E ho'omaha me ka maluhia.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 21, at 10:00 a.m., at Salas Brother Funeral Chapel, 419 Scenic Drive, Modesto, CA 95350.
A Celebreation of Life will be held directly after the funeral service.
