Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand Stroehmann of Cedar Road, announce the engagement of their daughter, Marianne Herta, to Raymond Joseph Jankowski, son of Mr. and Mrs. August Jankowski of Snyder and Niagara Falls. The wedding will take place on Thanksgiving Day at St. Aloyisius Church. Mr. Jankowski attended the University of Buffalo and is a member of Beta Chi Epsilon.

From the Buffalo, NY Courier Express, December 6, 1949:

      Jankowski-Stroehmann

St Aloysius Church was the setting at 10 a.m. Thursday, November 24th, for the marriage of Miss Marianne Herta Stroehmann, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand Stroehmann, to Raymond Joseph Jankowski, son of Mr. and Mrs; August Jankowski of Snyder and Niagara Falls. The double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. Joseph Sharmack. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a medieval gown of starlight white satin fashioned with a high round neckline and fitted bodice outlined with delicate leaves of seed pearls. The very full skirt terminated into a court train. Her fingertip veil of French illusion fell from a tiara of seed pearls and orange blossoms and she carried a cascade bouquet of gardenias and pompons. Mrs. Harry L. Logan was the matron of honor in a ballerina gown of tissue gold lace embroidered in silver. Miss Ceiia Tronolone and Mrs. J. Carl Burke were bridesmaids and wore gowns similar to that of the honor attendant. Charles Snyder was the best man and the ushers were Richard Frees, Harry Logan and Edward Lankes. Baskets of white chrysanthemums and gladioli enhanced the Buffalo Athletic Club where the reception was held following the ceremony. After January 15th, the couple will be at home on Hoover Ave., Kenmore.
