    William Dervin ("Bill") Lotz (1893-1958) was the eldest of the five children of William M. ("Bim") Lotz (1863-1944) and Ella D. ("Nell") Hanley Lotz (1864-1934). He wed Anna Elizabeth Spotswood Lotz with whom he raised their only child, Anna Jean Lotz (Sheets, 1922-2013) who wed Marvin Sheets. Three group photographs -- 1902, 1904 & 1905 -- in which Bill Lotz appears as a child may be viewed on the Memorial to his uncle Henry Lotz, Jr., a Memorial linked to that of Bill's father, "Bim" Lotz, and to those of Bim's and Henry's parents and Bim's and Henry's seven siblings, all of whom are interred at Greenwood Cemetery in Hamilton, seat of Butler County, Ohio.

    Anna Jean Lotz Sheets is the only child of Anna Elizabeth Spotswood Lotz (1899-1970) and William Dervin (“Bill’) Lotz (1893-1958) of Santa Clara County, California. Bruce and Karen Garver first met Anna Jean and Marvin Sheets in August 1962 at San Jose, CA, and last visited them in Medford, Oregon, in July 1993. Bruce Morton Garver and Anna Jean Lotz Sheets are two of the many great-grandchildren of German immigrants Henry Lotz, Sr. (1835-1906) and Elizabeth Catharine Donges Lotz (1838-1916). Anna Jean’s grandfather, William M. (“Bim”) Lotz (1864-1944) was the eldest brother of Bruce’s grandmother, Emma Lotz Morton (1877-1962). Anna Jean Lotz Sheet’s second cousin, Bruce Morton Garver, wrote the following captions to describe the large close-knit California family to which Anna Jean and her parents belonged.
