Ethel M. Delano, 85, Friendship, died Saturday at a local nursing home. She was born in Waldoboro, a daughter of James and Viola Benner. She was a homemaker all her life, and drove the US mail from Friendship to thomaston for eight years. During World War II. she worked at the Black and Gay Canning Factory in Thomaston. She later worked for nine years at the Port Clyde Packing co. and for 12 years at the North Lubec Sardine Factory, until she retired. mrs. Delano is survived by her husband of 68 years, W. Thomas Belano of Friendship, a daughter, Mrs. Beatrice Wotton of Friendship; eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sons, Reginald Delano, who died in 1954 and Gerald who died in 1988. A funeral was held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Hall Funeral Home, Waldoboro with the Rev. Richard park and Norman Young officiating. Burial in Sweetland Cemetery, Waldoboro. Lincoln Couny News: August 10th, 1989. |
