Della F. Chase Black, 97, of Waldoboro, died Sept. 3 at her home.
She was born Sept. 21, 1912 in Damariscotta, a daughter of the late William F. and Mamie L. Chase.
Della attended school in Waldoboro and over the years worked at Medomak Canning Factory, HP Hoods & Sons and the Button Faactory. She belonged to St. Paul Society on Dutch Neck and was a life long member of the United Methodist Church. Della enjoyed playing Bingo, watching TV game shows, completing jigsaw and word search puzzles and attending church.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Myron Chase; sister, Mable Chase; and twin sister, Stella Turner.
Della is survived by her daughter, Louise Simmons of Nobleboro; son, Kendall Black of Waldoboro; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to join her family for a service to celebrate Della’s life 11 a.m., Tues., Sept. 21 at the Waldoboro United Methodist Church on Friendship St., Waldoboro. The Rev. Beverly Blaisdell will officiate. Interment will be in the Dutch Neck Cemetery, next to her parents.
