Dieter Hasso Pelczynski
Dieter Hasso Pelczynski, 75, of Lower Towamensing Township, Palmerton, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, April 7, at home.
Dieter was the loving husband of Sigrid C. (Pfaff) Pelczynski, and they were best friends for 50 wonderful years of marriage.
Dieter was born in Breslau, Germany on August 5, 1935, the son of the late Alfred and Elizabeth Pelczynski.
He worked as an Iron Worker for Iron Workers Union 455 in Astoria, NY for 40 years until retiring.
He served our country in the United States Army.
We have been blessed with the presence of Dieter in our lives and he will be deeply missed by his loving wife Sigrid; his five children: Dennis Pelczynski of South Carolina, Diane Pelczynski-Sheehan and her husband Joseph of Palmerton, Dean Pelczynski and his wife Elizabeth of Lehighton, Sabrina Pelczynski-Kunda and her husband Martin of Palmerton, and Sandra Pelczynski-Noto and her husband Alfredo of Danielsville.
He was a loving and gentle grandfather to his 18 grandchildren: Dennis, Brian, Melissa, Sigrid, Leighton, Brooke, Shelby and Joshua Pelczynski; Christopher, Andrew, Brandon and Alexander Weiss; Sarah, Jacob, Hannah, Elijah and Emma Kunda and Luca Noto.
Dieter is also survived by two sisters: Karin Globus of Florida and Gertrude Demopoulos of Long Island, N.Y.; one brother: Bodo Pelczynski of Long Island, N.Y.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Timothy Michael Weiss; a sister, Gisela, and a brother in childhood.
Services: Family and friends are welcome to visit with the family from 5 -7 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, at the Donald N. Gower Funeral Home, Inc., Route 209, Gilbert with a memorial service beginning at 6 p.m. with Rev. David Felker officiating.
Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made In Loving Memory of Dieter Hasso Pelczynski to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38101.
