| 5202 | Paul was born on August 26, 1926 at the Aba mission station in northern Belgian Congo. His parents, Leonard and Daphne Buyse were missionaries with Africa Inland Mission (AIM) in the Belgian Congo at the time. He had two older siblings; a sister named Helen Jean and a brother named John. He also had two younger siblings; a brother named Robert and a sister named Marian. During his childhood in Belgian Congo, Paul and the family lived on mission stations at Kasengu, Blukwa and Rethy. He attended grade school at Rethy Academy. He started high school at the Westervelt Home in Columbia, South Carolina and eventually graduated from Garden City High School in Garden City, Minnesota in 1945. He started his college classes at Northwestern Bible College in St. Paul, Minnesota then he transferred to Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, Illinois and graduated in 1948. Paul met Katherine Louco from Camden, New Jersey while attending Moody and they were married shortly after Paul graduated from Moody. They had four children; three boys and a girl. Tim the oldest was born in 1949 in Harrison, Arkansas. The other three children were born in the Belgian Congo. Janie was born in 1955 at Oicha, went to heaven in 1956 and is buried at Oicha. Larry was born in 1956 at Oicha. Philip was born in 1960 at Rethy. Upon graduation from Moody, Paul and Katherine worked with the North Arkansas Gospel Mission in north central Arkansas for about two years. They joined AIM towards the end of that time. They moved to Minnesota in 1950 to start raising support and preparing to go to Africa. Paul served as the pastor of a church in Garden City, Minnesota during that year. They left for Africa to serve with AIM in the Belgian Congo in 1952. They worked in Africa for the next thirty seven years serving the Lord at the small remote stations at Biasiko and Lalia, intermediate size stations at Mwenda and Blukwa, the large stations at Oicha and Rethy as well as a short time at Kijabi, Kenya during one of the evacuations from the newly independent Congo. Paul went to Africa to be a preacher and an evangelist which he loved doing and was committed to doing. It was also soon apparent that he had other useful talents. One of his talents was the ability to build things. He was asked to build in excess of thirty construction projects from as far south as Biasiko to a village north of Rethy and even at Kijabi. Projects ranged in scope and size from infrastructures like bridges, water systems and electric plants to churches, schools, dispensaries and houses for both African co-workers as well as missionaries. Another of his talents was his ability to make eye glasses to help people see. He was able to train several African personnel in optometry. Together they set up three permanent eye clinics and a mobile eye clinic. Working as a team they were able help thousands of people see better. That work is still bearing fruit to this day. Paul & Katherine retired from working in Africa in 1989. Paul spent the next four years working in the accounting office at the AIM headquarters in Pearl River, New York. They moved in 1992 to the AIM retirement center in Minneola, Florida. Even though he was retired, Paul served as chaplain on the campus for the next ten years. Paul’s suffering with congestive heart failure began about 2012 and slowly sapped away his energy and his mind until God called home on June 7, 2017. He is survived by Katherine, his brother Robert, his sister Marian Botha, his three sons Timothy (Cynthia), Larry (Mimi) and Philip (Susan), nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Novmeber 1675 heiratete er Anna Maria, die Tochter der Kellerin Anna Elisabeth in Beilstein. Sie war um 1657 geboren worden als uneheliches Kind ihrer Mutter. Er hatte mit ihr sieben Kinder, über die wir im einzelnen später im zeitlichen Ablauf berichten werden. Die Kinder waren: Johann Wilhelm geb. 1676, Johannes geb. 1679, Tochter N.N. geb. 20 April 1682 und im selben Jahr gestorben, Maria Catharina geb. 1684, Maria Magdalena geb. 1685, Johann Jost Wilhelm geb. 1687 und Anna Margaretha geb. 1689. Aufgrund seiner guten Ausbildung und seines Ansehens wurde Paulus anno 1679 zu einem der zwei Bürgermeister in seinem Heimatort gewählt. Er begleitete dieses Amt über einige Jahre. Am 25. Mr. Lamers was born in the Netherlands and emigrated to America from Canada in 1951. He was the devoted husband to his life-long love, the late Willemina van Maanen Lamers who passed away in 2009. Mr. and Mrs. Lamers shared 60 wonderful years together. Mr. Lamers was an investment trade officer at Security Trust Company until his retirement in 1986. He was the son of the late Johanna Buyse Lamers and Harmannus Lamers. He is survived by his brother, Leonard D. Lamers and sisters, Dina Lamers Boot, Maria Lamers Mennes, Petronella Lamers van Loon and Henderika Lamers, all living in the Netherlands. He was predeceased by his brothers, Herman Lamers, Johan Lamers, Adrianus Lamers and sister, Johanna Lamers Sepers. He leaves behind many wonderful friends, nieces and nephews who will deeply miss him. Those who knew Randy will always remember his eagerness to help anyone in need. He was predeceased by his father and best friend, Lawrence "Bucky" Wardwell. He is survived by his loving wife and friend of 30 years, Wanda Marie Wardwell; his son, Troy Scott Wardwell of Penobscot; his mother, Patricia Wardwell of Penobscot; sisters, Robin Vogell and her husband, Scott, of Castine, and Lisa Haas and her husband, Ronald, of Penobscot; his grandmother, Mary Robshaw of Bucksport; aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Dezember 1917 in Waldoboro als Tochter von Paul und Lucy May (Miller) Boissonneault geboren und besuchte die Schulen in Waldoboro und Bucksport. Edith war eine wundervolle Ehefrau, Mutter und Großmutter, die ihre Familie über alles liebte und sich liebevoll um sie kümmerte. Neben ihrer Familie galt ihre größte Leidenschaft dem Kochen, und viele werden sich an ihre köstlichen Kuchen, Torten, Kekse und Donuts erinnern. Sie arbeitete viele Jahre im Pentagoet Inn in Castine und in zahlreichen Privathaushalten. Außerdem war sie im Krankenhaus von Castine als Köchin und Pflegehelferin tätig und betrieb zusammen mit ihrem Mann den Lebensmittelladen „Wardwell’s Market“ in Castine. Sie war Mitglied des Ordens des Östlichen Sterns und der Rebekka-Schwestern und besuchte früher die „Castine Grange“. Edith wurde von ihrer Familie sehr geliebt und wird von allen, die sie kannten, schmerzlich vermisst werden. | 5239 | Peter Benner Obituary Peter Benner, 47 of Nobleboro, passed away peacefully at his home on the evening of February 18, 2022, due to complications from ongoing severe kidney failure and Covid-19. Peter was born on March 27, 1974 in Rockland, to David and Dorothy Benner of Nobleboro. He attended Nobleboro Central School, and graduated from Lincoln Academy in 1992. Upon graduating high school, Peter entered the automotive industry, where he worked in various roles over the years; including the parts department at Wiscasset Ford and Parts Manager of Rockland Ford. During the past couple years, Peter was forced to step away from the auto industry to deal with his kidney disease, but was able to return to work part-time last summer, working for The Penalty Box in Damariscotta. Peter was loved and will be missed by many. He was predeceased by his mother, Dorothy G. Benner. He is survived by his two sons, Harley and Cooper Benner; his father, David A. Benner Sr.; his sister, Amy Fossett; brothers, David A. Benner Jr. and Wayne Benner; as well as many close family and friends. Peter will be remembered for his love of motorcycles, cars and trucks and his desire to make people laugh and have a good time. The Celebration of Life gathering will be held from 11am - 2pm, on Saturday, June 11, 2022, at the Wells-Hussey American Legion Hall, located at 524 Main Street, in Damariscotta. Peter would have wanted a party, so please bring your stories and memories of him, a dish to share (potluck style), and be prepared to smile, listen to some favorite songs and reunite with friends (There will be a cash bar). We are happy to share that there will be a First Annual Blessing of the Bikes on this day around 11:15am, with Pastor Jim Dowse from the Congregational Church of Bristol, performing a brief ceremony to honor Peter's love of motorcycling.
