- d and operated Wallace Shellfish, Inc. from 1972 until he sold it to the Friendship Lobster Co-op in 1997. Recently, the Friendship Boat Races were dedicated to him for his over 60 years of service in the fishing industry. He continued to stay inv olved with local fishermen working with his son, Larry, at Wallace Lobster Corp. He was honorably discharged in 1953 from the U.S. Naval Reserve. He enjoyed his family, his dog Bernie and playing cards with friends. Harlan was predeceased by his p arents; daughter, Jane Wallace; sisters, Ava Wallace, Annie Hutchins, and Evelyn Winchenbach; brother, Robert Wallace; and wife, Nancy Wallace. He is survived by children, Virginia (Wallace) Blouin and husband David of South Portland, Harlan Walla ce and wife Kathy, Larry Wallace and wife Jane, all of Friendship, and Patricia (Wallace) Barton and husband Jim of Whitefield; brother, Douglas Wallace of Waldoboro; grandchildren, Tammy McKibben of Cape Elizabeth, Vickki Colwick of South Carolin a, Kristen Weeks and Ernie Wallace, both of Friendship, Kelly Wallace of Virginia, and Jesse, Megan, and Kayla Barton, all of Whitefield; great - grandchildren, Katie Colwick of South Carolina, Jack and Molly McKibben of Cape Elizabeth, Kylie Week s and Trent Wallace, both of Friendship; beloved dog, Bernie, who was constantly by his side; and stepchildren, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren that he cared for deeply. Graveside service 2 p.m., Thurs., Nov. 15 at the Village Cemetery in F riendship. Rev. Robert Dorr will officiate.
