Portland Press Herald (ME) | 18 December 1999 Mildred Pease Berry, 90, of Oyster River Road died Friday at her residence. She was born here, a daughter of Charles A. and Mary V. Winchembach Pease, and graduated from Warren Academy and Gorham Normal School. Mrs. Berry was a school teacher for the Readfield schools. After bringing up her three children, she taught piano for many years. She was a member of the Second Congregational Church, where she was choir director for several years, and the Senior Citizens of Warren and the Garden Club. She enjoyed music, and was a fan of the Boston Celtics and Atlanta Braves. Her husband, Roland D. Berry, died in 1974. Surviving are two sons, Willis R. and Charles A. Berry, both of Warren; a daughter, Mary B. Gammon of Warren, seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Visiting hours will be 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Davis Funeral Home, Thomaston. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Second Congregational Church in Warren with the Rev. Dunkin Green officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Warren. A gathering of friends and family will be held after the funeral at the church. |
