Leon L. Benner, 77, died November 9th at Waterville after a long illness. He was born September 29th, 1888, the son of Edwin L. and Lucy Turner Benner. He had resided in Waldoboro most of his life. During World War I he worked at Bath Iron Works as a machinist. Later he moved to Waldoboro where he worked at the button factor for over 30 years. He belonged to King Solomon, AF & AM No. 61 and was recipient of the 40-year pin last year. He also was a member of King Hiram Council No. 6 Royal and Select Masters, of Rockland. He resided at the residence of Harold Clark for many years. He is survived by one son, Norman F. Benner of Waldoboro; three grandchildren, Edward T. Benner of Tocoma Park, Md., Harold K. and David L. Benner of Waldoboro; one nephew, Kenneth Benner, Whitingsville, Mass. Funeral services were held Saturday at the Hall Funeral Home, Waldoboro, with the Rev. Foster Williams officiating. Interment will be in the Comery cemetery, Waldoboro.
