John W. Flora, age 59, of Eaton, OH, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 11, 2013 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Dayton, OH. He was born April 6, 1954 in Dayton to Marie Flora and the late Willis W. Flora. He was a devoted member of the First English Lutheran Church, Richmond, IN where he served on the church council; he was director for the Preble County Habitat for Humanity, working with the Habitat for over 20 years; and was an electrical trade contractor for over 42 years in the Miami Valley area.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years Alice J. Flora of Eaton, OH; daughter and son-in-law Janelle and Doug Ellis of Wyoming, MI; sister and brother-in-law Arlene and Tim Thompson of Reynoldsburg, OH; and a niece and nephew.

Friends will be received from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday, November 15, 2013 at the Girton Schmidt & Boucher Gard Funeral Home, 226 West Main Street, Eaton, OH.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at the First English Lutheran Church, 2727 East Main Street, Richmond, IN 47374 with Rev. John R. Walker and Rev. Brian Derrer officiating. Inurnment will be in the church columbarium.
