BARBARA E. CARLOW

LINCOLN - Barbara E. Carlow, 77, died Nov. 16, 2009, at a Lincoln health care facility with her family by her side. May you now be at eternal peace.

She was born June 23, 1932, in Brooksville, the daughter of Carl and Helen (Grindle) Closson.

She endured a long battle with her illness for many years. She may now rest in peace with her son, Roger. Barbara loved her family and enjoyed making cakes, and knitting blankets for her family. Her door was always open to all and she was kind and thoughtful to others.

She leaves her loving and longtime companion, husband and best friend, Roger Carlow; she also leaves behind two daughters, Debbie Martin of Ohio and Joannie Greene Worrell of Florida; a son, David Allan Carlow of Mattawamkeag; her siblings, Patricia Blake and her husband, Ernest, and Jane Hale and her husband, Donald, all of Brooksville, Arlene “Tinny” O’Rourke of Cumberland, Md., John Closson and his wife, Linda, and Richard Closson and his wife, Sherrianne, all of Brookesville; many grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends that will miss her dearly.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son, Roger Carlow Jr.

Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday at Lincoln Cemetery with the Rev. Terry Upcott officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice or Penobscot Valley Humane Society, 1 Park Ave., Lincoln, ME 04457. ROGER W. CARLOW JR.
LINCOLN - Today, God took our son after a very hard illness. Roger William Carlow Jr., 43, died July 4, 2004, at his home. He was born April 17, 1961, in Lincoln, the son of Barbara (Clausson) and Roger W. Carlow Sr. For many years, Roger worked as a carpenter for Local Union No. 1996. He retired from work after becoming ill with cancer. He fought a valiant battle, but God must have needed him sooner than we wanted to let him go. We will miss you, Rog, and think of you often. In addition to his parents, Roger is survived by his pride and joy, a daughter, Meaghan Ellen Carlow; and a much loved son, Heath DeLaite; two children whom he loved dearly, Nick and Nastassja Francis; two sisters, Debbie Martin of Ohio and Joannie Greene of Florida; a brother, David Carlow of Mattawamkeag. Rog will be greatly missed by the special friends who loved him, Blaine Weatherbee, Jason Morrison, Jeannie Grant, and Lisa (Goding) and Jim Anderson. Others important to him from the animal kingdom were his lab, Casey; and his cat, Monkey Boy. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln.
