Charles E. Waltz electrical contractor WALDOBORO - Charles E. Waltz, 54, husband of Katrina Glaude Waltz, died unexpectedly Tuesday at Miles Memorial Hospital in Damariscotta. He was born in Rockland, a son of Herbert and Elizabeth Crandon Waltz |
- , attended local schools and was a 1962 graduate of Waldoboro High School. After high school, he enlisted in the Marine Corps and served in Europe. Following his discharge in 1966, he served one year as a legislative sereant at arms with the Main e House of Representatives. He later attended the University of Maine at Orono, graduating with a degree in philosophy. Mr. Waltz and his wife celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary on Sept. 28. He dug clams for two years and in 1977 received h is journeyman's electrical degree from the Kennebec Valley Vocational School. Three months later he received his master electrician's license and founded Broad Bay Electric. Mr. Waltz supported Amnesty International and the Good Shepherd Food Back . He was an active member of the West Bay Rotary Club in Camden and was recently honored as a Paul Harris Fellow. He also was a member of the Mid-Coast Home Builders Association, where he enjoyed promoting and presenting scholarships. Besides hi s wife of Waldoboro, Mr. Waltz is survived by a son, Aaron C. of Waldoboro; a daughter, Bethany L. Overlock of Warren; and a grandson, Jared M. Overlock of Warren. A celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the First Congregatio nal Church, Main Street, Warren. Arrangements are by Burpee-Strong Funeral Home, Rockland.
