  LifeSketch	LifeSketch Obituary for Ronald Leon Yattaw Ronald Leon Yattaw Ronald L. Yattaw, 57 years old died at his home in Friendship, ME on Friday January 28th, 2012 after a brief illness. Ron was born in Rockland, Maine on Sept. 22, 1954, and was the eldest of two sons of the late Constance Mink-Yattaw and Llewellyn Yattaw, Jr. of Friendship Maine. He was a 1972 graduate of Medomak Valley High School where he was recognized for his high academic achievements. In addition, Ron participated in several sports including basketball, track, and baseball, where his baseball team won the state championship in 1970. Shortly after high school, he volunteered his time to the Waldoboro Little Leaque. For the past 30 years Ron owned and operated his own plumbing and heating business serving Friendship and surrounding areas. Ron was a devoted and skilled master plumber who was always there for his customers in need. His passion in later years was to the Maine Harness Horseman's Association (MHHA) where he owned and raced several successful horses. Recently, he was honored at an award ceremony from the MHHA for achieving ten, first place finishes during the 2011 season. Ron was a "local character who was never afraid to speak his mind, and was loved by many. Ronnie is survived by his two sons Eric and his wife Heather of Portland Maine, Matthew and his long time girlfriend Brittney Hawthorne of Rockland, Maine Brother, Keith Yattaw and his wife Michelle of Orlando, FL Father, Llewellyn Yattaw Jr. and wife Cynthia of Friendship, ME, several aunts, uncles and cousins The service will be held 3 p.m. Thursday February 2nd at the Friendship United Methodist Church. Ron wurde am 22. September 1954 in Rockland, Maine, als ältester von zwei Söhnen der verstorbenen Constance Mink-Yattaw und Llewellyn Yattaw Jr. aus Friendship, Maine, geboren. Er machte 1972 seinen Abschluss an der Medomak Valley High School, wo er für seine hervorragenden schulischen Leistungen ausgezeichnet wurde. Darüber hinaus betrieb Ron verschiedene Sportarten, darunter Basketball, Leichtathletik und Baseball, wo sein Baseballteam 1970 die Landesmeisterschaft gewann. Kurz nach der High School engagierte er sich ehrenamtlich in der Waldoboro Little League. In den letzten 30 Jahren besaß und betrieb Ron sein eigenes Sanitär- und Heizungsunternehmen in Friendship und Umgebung. Ron war ein engagierter und erfahrener Klempnermeister, der seinen Kunden stets zur Seite stand. Später engagierte er sich leidenschaftlich für die Maine Harness Horseman's Association (MHHA), wo er mehrere erfolgreiche Pferde besaß und ritt. Kürzlich wurde er bei einer Preisverleihung der MHHA für zehn erste Plätze in der Saison 2011 geehrt. Ron war eine lokale Persönlichkeit, die sich nie scheute, ihre Meinung zu sagen, und von vielen geliebt wurde. Ronnie hinterlässt seine beiden Söhne Eric und seine Frau Heather aus Portland, Maine, sowie Matthew und seine langjährige Freundin Brittney Hawthorne aus Rockland, Maine. Bruder Keith Yattaw und seine Frau Michelle aus Orlando, Florida. Vater Llewellyn Yattaw Jr. und seine Frau Cynthia aus Friendship, Maine, sowie mehrere Tanten, Onkel und Cousins. Der Gottesdienst findet am Donnerstag, dem 2. Februar, um 15 Uhr in der Friendship United Methodist Church statt. Im Anschluss folgt ein Empfang im Hahn Community Center.
