Allan February 13, 1929 - December 20, 2013 Allan Laubach passed away peacefully on December 20, 2013 with family at his side. It is with heavy hearts that we say farewell to our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Allan was born in Edmonton, Alberta . He moved to Chilliwack, BC at an early age and enjoyed a memorable childhood with his parents (Fred and Kathleen) and his three sisters (Anna, Enid, Billie). He moved to North Vancouver during his elementary school years and it was there that his interest for drawing and construction developed. Allan worked briefly for the CP Railway but his passion for construction led him to become a draftsman and eventually into a successful career as a construction superintendent. It was also in North Vancouver that he met the love of his life, Joyce, and where they raised their family. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 57 years, Joyce, his children, Jennifer, David (Joanne), Nola and grandchildren, Paul, Shilo (Jennifer), Gabriel, Sarah, Jacob (David), Breanna (Nola), and his sisters, Enid Walker and Billie Knowles. The family extends their deepest gratitude and thanks to the caring and compassionate staff at Evergreen House where Allan spent the last year of his life. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, January 12, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at Hillside Baptist Church located at 870 Lynn Valley Road, North Vancouver. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation of BC or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
