- Marla Jean VanderMyde, age 68, died on May 9, 2006, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born on May 12, 1937, in Salt Lake City to Max and Afton Hammond. She married Cornelius Johannes "Dutch" VanderMyde on February 14, 1976. Marla was an excellent bowler who also loved fishing and camping. She was a great socializer who loved talking to people. Marla never judged and always accepted and loved people as they are. She always looked forward to her frequent trips to Wendover to play KENO. Marla was an accomplished accountant who dedicated 22 years of service to the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Salt Lake. "Old accountants never die, they just lose their balance." She is survived by husband, Dutch; sons, Todd (Keri) Smith, Bradley (Tanya) Smith; stepsons Ron (Marsha) VanderMyde, John (Marci) VanderMyde; stepdaughters, Jane (Mel) Bowman and Carrie (Dimitri) Clark; 18 grandchildren, three great- grandchildren, brothers Robert, Scott, and Curtis Hammond. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, May 15, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at Mountain View Memorial. Viewing from 11:30-12:45.
