Walter Bruno "Wally" Remdt was born in Manebach, Germany on July 24, 1924 to Aline and Max Remdt. The family moved to Chicago during the late 1920s. A decorated World War II veteran and Bronze Star recipient, Wally proudly served the United States in the 65th Signal Battalion and the 326 1st Signal Service Company in Europe. After the war, Wallt Graduated from the University of Illinois and attended John Marshall Law School. He started and ended his career with the insurance adjusting firm of Toplis & Harding, Inc. (agents of Lloyds of London) rising to President of the company. During his retirement, he enjoyed world travel, shared his business acumen as a counselor with SBA\'s Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE), continued his long-standing relationship with the American Turners, and was active in the American Legion. A former Lake Forest, Illinois resident, Wally resided in Florida until his death. He was the husband of Gloria and father of Victor (Patricia) Remdt and Laura (James) Remdt Johnson. He was the devoted grandfather to Max, Caroline and Emily Johnson and Victoria Remdt.

Wally was the husband of Gloria (nee Bernin); father of Victor (Patricia) Remdt and Laura (James) Johnson; devoted grandfather of Max, Caroline and Emily Johnson and Victoria Remdt; dear member of the Kuehn and Rosenbaum families.
