She was a member of the Friendship-Cushing Senior Citizens, Pythian Sisters, and the Grange. She enjoyed cooking and especially g oing on field trails for fox hounds with her husband. She was predeceased by her husband Floyd A. Benner who died in 1975. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Eleanor) Copeland of Friendship; Mrs. Carl (Glenys) Simmons of Friendship; thr ee granddaughters, Viola Davis of Friendship, Lucille Blackler of South Thomaston and Jeanette Geisler of Waldoboro; one grandson, Gilbert Simmons of Friendship; five great-grandsons, Blaine Davis of Burlington, N.J. Dan Davis of Friendship, Thoma s C. Hayes of Friendship, Nick Sprague of South Thomaston, and Jason Simmons of Friendship; three great-granddaughters, Ann-Marie Hayes of Boulder, Col., Lori-Ann Hayes, and Ellen E. Simmons of Friendship; five great-great-grandchildren; several n ieces and nephews. The funeral service was held 2 p.m. Monday at Hall Funeral Home in Waldoboro with Rev. Walter Brown officiating. Burial followed in the Sweetland Cemetery in Waldoboro. Arrangements are under the direction of Hall Funeral Home i n Waldoboro. Lincoln County News: October 12th, 1995. Sympathy goes out the family of Myrtle W. Benner, 94, who entered eternal rest Oct. 5 at Fieldcrest Manor in Waldoboro. She was the widow of Floyd A. Benner, who died in 1975.
