- Sewall C. Waltz, 45, died at his home at the Mills Monday following a long illness. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Irene Robinson Waltz, formerly of Richmond; 11 children, Mrs. Richard Hobbs, Carroll, Raymond, Gertrude, Robert, Margaret, Frank, Aubrey, Henry, Judy, and Gloria, all of Mills. The funeral was held at Strong's Funeral Home Thursday. Interment was in Highland Cemetery. Rev. Henry Van Deman of New Harbor officiated.

Sewall C. Waltz, 45, died at his home at Damariscotta Mills, Dec. 30, after a long and painful illness, which he bore with great patience. He was an active member of Minnehata Fire Co. A blacksmith by trade with his equipment he visited the surrounding towns, whenever, his services were needed. His kindly manner and skillful workman-ship gained for him a host of friends. Surviving are his wife, Irene Robinson Waltz, and eleven children; Mrs. Richard Hatch, Carroll, Gertrude, Raymond, Robert, Henry, Margaret, Aubrey, Frank, Judith Ann, Gloria Jean; his mother, Mrs. Stella Witham; a stepfather, Frank Witham; one sister, Edith M. Waltz all of Damariscotta Mills; and two aunts, Mrs. Della Dickerson of Richmond, and Mrs. Hattie Berce of Nobleboro and two uncles, Horace A. Witham of Bath and John E. Witham of New Britain, Conn. Funeral services were held January 2 at the Strong Funeral Home, Rev. Henry Van Deman officiating. The large attendance and beautiful floral offerings showed the high esteem in which he was held. Burial was in Highland Cemetery.
