1943-2014
ALBION - Giles E. Risch, age 71, died unexpectedly Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014 at his home. He was born in Glen Ridge, N.J., on Jan. 20, 1943 a son of the late Robert G. and Gertrude (Reese) Risch.
Mr. Risch attended schools in New Jersey, Maine and Pennsylvania.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Vietnam in 1966 and 1967.
Upon his honorable discharge from the service, he was a self employed, over the road truck driver for many years. He later worked as a mental health worker before his retirement.
Mr. Risch was predeceased by a sister, Rachel Pratt and two brothers: Robert G. Risch Jr. and Donald D. Risch.
He is survived by two sons: Robert G. Risch and his partner, Sherry Curtis, of Freedom, and James R. Risch, of Randolph; two granddaughters: Mikeala M. Risch, of Fort Kent, and Nicholle E. Risch, of Union; as well as his former wife and mother of his children, Marjorie (Noyes) Nicholas, of Randolph.
At his request, there will be no public visiting hours. A private graveside service with military honors will be held in the spring in the new Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Augusta.
