Bedford, Sept. 11 - Funeral services for Merton L. Winchenbaugh, 58, of 14 Hartford St., member of teh school committee, well known in the Boston marine hardware trade and a former selectman and health board member, who died Saturday night will be held at his home at 2 p.m. tomorrow. Town flags were ordered at half staff out of respect to the prominent town official. A native of Waldoboro, Me., son of George Nelson and Mary E. Winchenbach, he came to Boston as a young man and prior to taking up residence in Bedford 27 years ago, lived in Somerville for several years. he was associated with teh Boston marine hardware firm of Bliss Brothers. He was a member of the Bedford Civci Club, Bedford Parent Teacher Association, Bedofd Republican town committee and Simon W. Robins Lodge, A.F. & A.M., of Lexington. Besides his wife, Mrs. Marion (Vannah) Winchenbaugh, he leaves two daughters, Mrs. Elwood Lapham of Lewiston, Me., and Miss Mary Winchenbaugh of Bedford; one granddaughter, his mother, a brother and a sister.

Bedford, Sept. 12. Funeral services were held today for Merton L. Winchenbaugh prominent town official who died Saturday at his home, 14 Hartford St. Rev. Frank W. Thompson officiated town and school flages were flown at half staff and schools closed at noon. The board of selectmen with which he once served and other town officials attended. Pallbearers were Acting Fire Cheif Russell C. Doge, George H. Lovejoy, Charles H. Skelton, Harold A. Wellington, James C. Richardson, all of this town, and George R. Fuller of Lexington. Burial was in Shawsheen Cemetery.
