DAMARISCOTTA -- Anna Lillian Winchenbach, 89, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007, at Coves Edge Nursing Home in Damariscotta. Anna was born in Waldoboro on Oct. 5, 1918, the daughter of Evron and Sadie Richards Flanders, and is a 1936 graduate of Waldoboro High School. On Oct. 5, 1937, she married Carl Adolph Winchenbach. They later purchased the home where she was born and raised three daughters. They were married for 22 years. She lived with her brother in Waldoboro for a short time and later went to Georgia to work at Wildwood Hospital cooking and doing other jobs. She returned to Maine to live in Camden where her Seventh Day Adventist Church and many friends are located. She became superintendent of the Sabbath school and sang for the congregation. She taught Bible School at the Maine State Prison in Thomaston and did numerous fund-raising activities for the church. For 20 to 30 years, she resided and worked at many estates in Camden and Rockport, mainly the Donald Dodge estate where she coordinated and planned for the household. She loved the families, beautiful flowers and spacious grounds by the ocean and meeting many celebrities. She was predeceased by her daughter, Lorraine Fowler; grandson, Kenneth Fowler Jr.; brother, Vincent Flanders; and sister, Naomi F. Wallace. Survivors include her daughters, Claire Clifford and her husband Earle of Boothbay, Donna Berkeley of Warren; son-in-law, Kenneth Fowler of Waldoboro; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and three great-great- grandchildren. Visitation, 6-8 p.m., Nov. 12, 2007, with a celebration of her life at 11 a.m., Nov. 13, at Hall Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 949 Main St., Waldoboro.

DAMARISCOTTA — Anna Lillian Winchenbach, 89, starb am Mittwoch, dem 7. November 2007, im Pflegeheim Coves Edge in Damariscotta. Anna wurde am 5. Oktober 1918 in Waldoboro als Tochter von Evron und Sadie Richards Flanders geboren und machte 1936 ihren Abschluss an der Waldoboro High School. Am 5. Oktober 1937 heiratete sie Carl Adolph Winchenbach. Später kauften sie ihr Geburtshaus und zogen drei Töchter groß. Sie waren 22 Jahre verheiratet. Sie lebte kurze Zeit mit ihrem Bruder in Waldoboro und ging später nach Georgia, um im Wildwood Hospital als Köchin und in anderen Berufen zu arbeiten. Sie kehrte nach Maine zurück und lebte in Camden, wo ihre Kirche der Siebenten-Tags-Adventisten und viele Freunde leben. Sie wurde Leiterin der Sabbatschule und sang für die Gemeinde. Sie unterrichtete Bibelschule im Staatsgefängnis von Maine in Thomaston und beteiligte sich an zahlreichen Spendenaktionen für die Kirche. 20 bis 30 Jahre lang lebte und arbeitete sie auf vielen Anwesen in Camden und Rockport, hauptsächlich auf dem Anwesen von Donald Dodge, wo sie den Haushalt koordinierte und plante. Sie liebte die Familien, die wunderschönen Blumen und die weitläufigen Anlagen am Meer und traf viele Berühmtheiten. Vor ihr starben bereits ihre Tochter Lorraine Fowler, ihr Enkel Kenneth Fowler Jr., ihr Bruder Vincent Flanders und ihre Schwester Naomi F. Wallace. Sie hinterlässt ihre Töchter Claire Clifford und ihren Mann Earle aus Boothbay, Donna Berkeley aus Warren, ihren Schwiegersohn Kenneth Fowler aus Waldoboro, acht Enkel, zwölf Urenkel und drei Ururenkel. Aufbahrung am 12. November 2007, 18—20 Uhr, mit einer Feier ihres Lebens am 13. November um 11 Uhr im Hall Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 949 Main St., Waldoboro.
