John and his wife, Linda (Manks) built a house on Verona Island, Bucksport, ME next to his mother's 2nd husband, Charles E. Bridges. He worked as a master electrician most of his life and me moved to Camden, ME and started Rainbow Electric Co. with his lifelong friend, Robert Shorey, Jr. and then to Fairbanks, ME as owner of Johnny's Electrical. John enjoyed many things that included square dancing, skiing, hiking, flying, reading, and playing chess. Most of all he loved Nascar racing. He drove stock cars in Unity, ME. He earned an Amateur (ham) radio operator license on Mar 7, 1995, having the call sign of N1ULX. John was a member of the North American Mycological Association, where he has written articles for the magazine "Mushroom: The Journal of Wild Mushrooms".
