- Michael "Carl" Maxcy
January 01, 1974 - January 01, 2019
SURRY Michael Maxcy, 45, of Surry, went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 1, 2019. He was born in Rockland, January 1, 1974. Michael died as he lived-on his own terms. Michael was known as Carl to many who loved him-a name lovingly given to him by his 'mother' and best friend, Linda Greenlaw. Michael started fishing with Linda at age 15, and the ocean will always be his home. From there, he met and married the love of his life, and together, they had two beautiful children that were his pride and joy. Family was the most important thing to Michael, but fishing and hunting were a close second. He especially enjoyed time with his children. He taught them valuable skills and lessons that they will always cherish-not the least of which is the importance of a hard days work. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his children, Hannah and Connor, and their mother, January Peavey; Mother, Linda Greenlaw; Step-Mother, Alwilda Maxcy; Brothers, David Maxcy and Wyatt Rindell; Step-Brother, Charles Barter; Sisters, Melissa Oxner and LaVillda Granger; Step-Sons, Cote and Brandon McClure and Mael Drew along with MANY aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
He is pre-deceased by his father, Joel Maxcy.
There will be a service for friends and family in late Spring when the children are ready.
