READFIELD - Nina Webber Mank, 81, died early Wednesday morning, Sept. 12, 2018, at her home in Readfield, with her family by her side, after a short illness. She was born in Winthrop Center on Nov. 14, 1936, to the late Elton Quimby and Thelma Evangeline (Smith) Webber.
Nina grew up in Winthrop and was a graduate of Winthrop High School. Upon graduation, she was hired by the State of Maine/DHHS, where she worked for over 35 years until her retirement.
Nina married Sheldon Mank on Dec. 6, 1969, and would have celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary in December.
Nina loved the Maine outdoors, where she and Sheldon enjoyed, among other activities, boating, four-wheeling, snowmobiling, and camping throughout their years together. Nina was also very crafty. She liked crocheting, knitting and sewing to name a few, and was very diligent in working on her crossword puzzles and jumbles.
She is survived by her husband, Sheldon; her son, Lee Mank and his wife, Amanda and her grandchildren, Ryan and Samantha, all of Readfield; her two stepsons, Wayne and Craig Mank, both of Rockland.
A celebration of Nina's life will be held graveside at Lakeview Cemetery, Narrows Pond Road, Winthrop.
