UNION - Mrs. Faye (Austin) Benner, 32, died at a Portland hospital Sunday from injuries suffered in an automobile accident at Waldoboro. She was born at Union, February 27, 1933, daughter of Richard L. and Martha (Gordon) Austin. Surviving, in addition to her husband Ronald L. Benner of Union, are her father, of Augusta; her mother, Martha G. Austin of Union; paternal grandmother, Mrs. Florence Austin of Washington; four sons, Ronald Allen, 11, David, 6, Stephen, 5, and Randall, 3; one daughter, Deborah, 8, all of Union; three brothers, Frank Austin of Union, Robert Austin of Falls, Church, Va., and Roger Austin of Viet Nam; two sisters, Betty Austin of Union, and Mrs. Annette Griffin of Union. Friends may call at the Hall Funeral Home, Waldoboro, Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Private funeral services wil be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at teh Hall Funeral Home, Waldoboro, with teh Rev. Vernon Jordan of Warren, officiating. Interment will be in Union Common Cemetery, Union.

Mrs. Faye Benner, about 32, of Union was fatally injured late Sunday afternoon when the station wagon in which she was riding crashed off Route 1, state police reported. Mrs. Benner died shortly after being admitted to the Maine Medical Center in Portland. State Trooper Roger Drake said the car driven by her husband, Ronald, 32 and containing their five children went down a steep embankment and struck a culvert. Benner suffered three broken ribs and multiple bruises and the children scrapes. All were held at Miles Memorial Hospital, Damariscotta for treatment. Private funeral services for Mrs. Faye Austin Benner were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Waldoboro. The Rev. Vernon Jordan officiated and interment was in Union Common Cemetery. She was born at Union Feb. 27, 1933 daughter of Richard C. and Martha Gordon Austin. Surviving besides her husband Ronald L. Benner, are father of Augusta her mother of Union, her maternal grandmother, Mrs. Florence Austin of Washington; four sons, Ronald, Daniel, Stephen and Randall; one daughter, Deborah all of Union; three brothers, Frank Austin of Union, Robert Austin of Falls Church, Va., and Roger Austin of Vietnam; two sisters, Miss Betty Austin and Mrs. Annette Griffin of Union; nieces and nephews.
