  	Patricia B. Dunn, age 69, of Noank, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Sunday, December 16th, 2007. She was born on Jan. 12, 1938 in New London, the daughter of Simon Alvah and Eileen Frusher Welt, and lived in Groton until moving with her parents to Mystic in 1952. Patty attended Groton schools and graduated from Robert E. Fitch High School in 1955, the last class to graduate from the original building. She attended the University of Connecticut and after her graduation taught school in Groton at the former Poquonnock Bridge Elementary School. Patty married David H. Dunn of Stonington, an Electric Boat engineer, in 1960. Eventually the couple settled in Noank where Mrs. Dunn became the director of the Noank Baptist Church nursery school, a post she held for over 20 years. Following her husband’s death in 1980, Mrs. Dunn was employed by the Bureau of Business Practice in Waterford, and Analysis and Technology in North Stonington, before finally retiring. Mrs. Dunn has been a long-time member of the Noank Historical Society and the Ram Island Yacht Club, as well as being a volunteer instructor in computer technology at the Groton Senior Center. She was especially fond of animals, always owning at least one Springer Spaniel and one or two cats. She was predeceased by her husband in 1980, and her son, David T. Dunn in 2004. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Karen and James Davenport and granddaughters Kristen and Laura, of Ancramdale, New York; her daughter-in-law Kelly Dunn and granddaughters Chelsea and Alyssa, of Jacksonville, Florida; her brother and sister-in-law Robert and Lora Welt of Mystic. She was especially close to her cousin William N. Peterson and her aunt Virginia Niebling. Other surviving cousins are Karen and Wesley Frusher. Mrs. Dunn had several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and a grandnephew. A Memorial Service will be conducted at the Noank Baptist Church on Friday, December 28th at 3pm. There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Noank Baptist Church nursery school or, for a charity dedicated to breast cancer research, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, 5005 LBJ Freeway, Ste. 250. Dallas, Texas 75244.
