Mrs. Carrie M. Winchenbaugh, 72, wife of the Rev. Herman R. Winchenbaugh died at her home, 16, Granite St., Rockland, Sunday, May 30. A native of Waldoboro, she was born Feb. 28, 1882, the daughter of Capt. Gardiner and Rosie Creamer Burns,. She was a member of the Pratt Memorial Methodist Church, the WSCS Golden Rod Chapter, Henderson Auxiliary, DAR, the Women\'s Educational Club and was a former member of Miriam Rebekah Lodge and the Grange. Besides her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Evangeline Sylvester of Rockland, Mrs. Virginia Poletti of Quincy, Mass. and Mrs. Eleanor Paguin of Augusta; six sons, Basil, Ensign, Xavier and Manuel, all of Rockland, Gabriel of Waldoboro and Benedict of Camden; two sisters, Mrs. Sadie Winchenbach and Mrs. Theresa Shute, both of Waldoboro and Evren Burns Burns of Friendship; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday from the Russell Funeral Home, the Rev. Merle S. Canant officiating. Interment was in Str. Paul\'s Society Cemetery, Dutch Neck, Waldoboro.
