- William Francis Crowden, 81, of Irving, TX, formerly of River Forest, IL, passed away on 2/15/13 in Irving, TX. He was born 4/25/31 in Chicago, IL., son of the late William M. and Noreen (Lamb) Crowden. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Brooke (Ludwig) Crowden of Irving, TX, daughter, Marguerite Crowden and son Will Crowden, both of Chicago, IL. He is also survived by his sister, Patricia Santilli (nee. Crowden) of Henderson, NV; brother, John (Kirsten) Crowden of Woodstock, IL, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. William was the owner of Drums Ltd. and later Frank's Drum Shop in Chicago, IL, the two most renowned music retail locations in the Midwest. His customers included world famous drummers Gene Krupa, Buddy Rich, Max Roach, Elvin Jones, Joe Morello, and countless other percussionists from around the globe. Services will be private.
