  	Donald R. Danly, passed away at Hinsdale Hospital on Wednesday, Feb. 13 at the age of 78. He is survived by his wife of over 56 years, Mary Lyons Danly; and his daughters, Christina Denton, Elizabeth Burtt and Catharine Zoufal. He was preceded in death by his sons, Robert and Thomas ''Tad''; his daughter, Amy Danly Krucks; and his brother, Bruce. The devotion shared reciprocally with his family was very strong and supportive. Mr. Danly is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Elissa McGinty, Bryce, Drew and Cailin Denton, Jonathan and Elizabeth Burtt, Kiki, Greta and Laura Krucks and Brittany and Christopher Zoufal. They will all miss their grandfather very much. His brother, John ''Jack'', also survives. Donald Danly graduated from Yale University in 1944 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, following which he served in the U.S. Navy until 1946. He then began his career at Danly Machine Corporation, a manufacturer of stamping presses, die sets and die maker supplies. He served the company in many ways - engineering, sales and marketing, many years on its Board of Directors, and ultimately, as its President. Along with these responsibilities, he was also the President of Onsrud Machine, a subsidiary firm that produced metal and wood working machines. His contributions were vital in helping both of these firms to their positions as leaders of their industries. He retired in January, 1984. His other interests included his membership in the Chicago Yacht Club since 1940, which involved participation in several Chicago-Mackinac Island and Port Huron-Mackinac Island races, as well as other shorter races. In addition, he was a long-standing member of the Hinsdale Golf Club. He spent many years with his family in Charlevoix, MI where they had a summer home and enjoyed boating and fishing. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, Feb. 19 at 11:15 a.m. at St. John of the Cross Church, 5005 Wolf Road, Western Springs.
