Lois Ponsant, 77, Waldoboro, died Fri. Dec. 20, at Penobscot Bay Medical Center, Rockport, after a long illness. She was born in Waldoboro Sept 30, 1919, the daughter of Clyde and Ethel Wincapaw Hilton. She was a graduate of Waldoboro High Schoo |
- l and was known for her basketball abilities, earning her a basketball scholarship. Mrs. Ponsant worked at Bath Iron Works during World War II. She was supervisor at the Pargaon Button Factory for many years, retiring in 1981. Her family was her l ife. She enjoyed playing games and teaching them how to cook. She also enjoyed bowling on several candlepin leagues in Waldoboro. She was predeceased by six brothers, Richard, Russell, Henry, Kenneth, Wilbur and Arthur Hilton, and by one sister, M arjorie Day. Mrs. Ponsant is survived by two daughters, Donna Parlin of Waldoboro and her children, Deidre Parlin, Brilyea and Jonna Pendleton, Shelia Delano of Waldoboro and her children, Gregory, Brian and Andrew Delano; one son, Creig Ponsant o f Waldoboro and his children, David, Denise and Danille Ponsant and Devin LaChance; seven great-grandchildren and 17 nieces and nephews. A private committal service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Hall Funeral Home, Waldoboro. L incoln County News: December 26, 1996.
