READFIELD – Sheldon L. Mank, 91, passed away Saturday, October 22, 2022 at Alfond Center For Health in Augusta.
He was born in Jefferson on June 9, 1931, the son of Lee and Alice (Hunt) Mank.
Sheldon grew up and spent much of his childhood in Waldoboro. He married Nina Webber at their home in Winthrop Center on December 6, 1969 and celebrated 49 years of marriage together before her passing in 2018.
Sheldon was employed as a tactor trailer truck driver for several years until being employed with the Town of Winthrop in the Public Works Department until his retirement in the early 1990's.
Sheldon loved the outdoors where he enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He also looked forward to his Sunday drives up to northern Maine.
Sheldon was predeceased by his wife, Nina, a son, Tony Mank, and brothers Gerald and Roger, as well as a sister, Marjorie.
He is survived by his three sons, Lee Mank and wife Amanda of Readfield, Wayne Mank and wife Donna of Rockland and Craig Mank of Hope; three sisters, Pauline Bragg and Lorraine Hayden of Waldoboro, Beth Benner of Jefferson and; one brother, Chester Mank of Waldoboro; grandchildren, Samantha Mank and Ryan Mank of Readfield, Christine Mank and her husband Chad Gray of Knox, Cathy Mank of Rockland and Kallista Mank-Arvin of West Virginia; great-grandchildren, Braydon and Carson Stratton of Readfield, Elizabeth Mank of Rockland, Alex Gray, Valerie Gray, Breanna Gray and Julie Gray of Knox.
Sheldon's life will be celebrated in a graveside service at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2022 at Lakeview Cemetery, Narrows Pond Road, Winthrop.

READFIELD — Sheldon L. Mank, 91, verstarb am Samstag, den 22. Oktober 2022, im Alfond Center for Health in Augusta.
Er wurde am 9. Juni 1931 in Jefferson als Sohn von Lee und Alice (Hunt) Mank geboren.
Sheldon wuchs in Waldoboro auf und verbrachte dort einen Großteil seiner Kindheit. Am 6. Dezember 1969 heiratete er Nina Webber in ihrem Haus in Winthrop Center und feierte mit ihr 49 Ehejahre, bevor sie 2018 verstarb.
Sheldon arbeitete mehrere Jahre als Sattelschlepperfahrer, bevor er bis zu seiner Pensionierung Anfang der 1990er Jahre im Bauamt der Stadt Winthrop arbeitete.
Sheldon liebte die Natur und ging gerne jagen, angeln und campen. Er freute sich auch auf seine Sonntagsausflüge in den Norden Maines.
Sheldon starb bereits vor seiner Frau Nina, seinem Sohn Tony Mank, seinen Brüdern Gerald und Roger sowie seiner Schwester Marjorie.
Er hinterlässt seine drei Söhne Lee Mank und seine Frau Amanda aus Readfield, Wayne Mank und seine Frau Donna aus Rockland und Craig Mank aus Hope; drei Schwestern, Pauline Bragg und Lorraine Hayden aus Waldoboro, Beth Benner aus Jefferson und einen Bruder, Chester Mank aus Waldoboro; seine Enkel Samantha Mank und Ryan Mank aus Readfield, Christine Mank und ihr Mann Chad Gray aus Knox, Cathy Mank aus Rockland und Kallista Mank-Arvin aus West Virginia; seine Urenkel Braydon und Carson Stratton aus Readfield, Elizabeth Mank aus Rockland, Alex Gray, Valerie Gray, Breanna Gray und Julie Gray aus Knox.
Sheldons Leben wird um 14 Uhr in einer Trauerfeier am Grab gewürdigt. Mittwoch, 16. November 2022, auf dem Lakeview Cemetery, Narrows Pond Road, Winthrop.
