Ethel (Bambury) Ludwig of Saugus and Lynn, passed away peacefully on August 29 with her family by her side. Ethel was born in Malden on June 2, 1929 to the late Mary and Hugh Bambury.
In her younger years, Ethel worked for Saugus Bank and Trust where she met her husband Jim Ludwig, Sr. of Saugus. Ethel worked at Transitron Corp while she was married to Jim. After Jim's passing who passed at a very young age, she worked as a school aide for the City of Lynn for over 30 years to support her family.
Ethel enjoyed traveling, especially taking her family on camping trips. Family gatherings were always very important to her and were part of her rituals down through the years. Her wit and sense of humor always shined through even up until the day of her passing.
Ethel leaves behind her caring and loving daughter Janice Leahy of Saugus. Her three sons, Jim Ludwig of Naples, FL, Scott Ludwig of Middleton and Peter Ludwig of Lynn and their spouses.
She also leaves behind 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Ethel is also survived by her loving sisters Nancy Haynes of Naples, FL. Judith Boyle of Newton, NH, her brother John Bambury of Saugus,
Ethel is predeceased by her loving brothers Hugh Bambury and Bob Bambury.
A Funeral Mass for Ethel will be held at Margaret's Parish in Saugus.
A private burial will be held, where she will be laid to rest alongside her loving husband Jim in Riverside Cemetery in Saugus.
