Marjorie P. Perry June 28, 1919 - September 27, 2008 Biography Delanson, Town of Wright (Schoharie County): Marjorie P. Perry, 89 of Larry Hill Road, Town of Wright died Saturday, September 27th at her home with her loving family by her side. She was born Marjorie Helen Peggs on Staten Island, NY, June 28, 1919 and was the daughter of H. McDonald Peggs, MD and Helen Farrell, Princess Bay. She attended Sweetbriar College, Sweetbriar, VA and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York and worked as an actress, appearing in several summer stock productions prior to her marriage in 1944 to director Robert E. Perry. After marriage, they were involved with productions across the country and, in their own theatre, the Gristmill Playhouse in Andover, NJ. Mr. Perry directed a number of Broadway productions, most notably "Dark of the Moon", and worked as a Director of Studio Operations for ABC Television in New York. He died in 1977. The Perry's moved to Piermont, NY in 1957 where Marjorie was an active community volunteer and employed as a Field Director by the Rockland County Girl Scout Council from 1966-1981. She is survived by two daughters and their husbands Elaine and Jeffrey Garvey of Watertown, NY and Virginia and Thomas Scholomiti, Delanson, NY and five grandchildren: Kate Scholomiti McMillian (and husband John), Washington, DC; James Garvey, Cohoes, NY; Robert Garvey, Brighton, MA; Erin Scholomiti, Somerville, MA; and Todd Garvey, Williamsburg, VA. She is also survived by a brother Frederick M. Peggs of Roswell, Georgia and three nieces and a nephew. A second brother, Gordon E. Peggs, predeceased her. Interment will be in the spring in Groton, Massachusetts. There will be no calling hours. The Langan Funeral Home of Schoharie and Central Bridge is assisting the family with arrangements.
